Absalom, Absalom!

I think that's my final answer.

Ok. I've put it on reserve at the library.

The easy trip from my couch to my bookshelf is just my style right now. :)

I got it from my library yesterday and got started. I read As I Lay Dying in high school and really hated it, but I'm enjoying revisiting Faulkner. Not as bad as I remember, though he does repeat himself A LOT.

What he does not repeat much is the period. I seem to recall that the first sentence in the book goes for seven pages.

I stole the book from MrsD and read the first ten pages -- I'm now wondering if I need to go find a translation into West Coast. I think I found Virgil's Latin easier than Faulkner's English.

Okay, I exaggerated. The first sentence is not seven pages. But somewhere in there is a three-page sentence, because I remember counting when I was struggling with the syntax in college.

Ah, maybe I should just go ahead write a post about AA, but that would require thinking big thoughts after the kids have gone down, when all I want to do is eat the chocolate bunny I've been hoarding away from little eyes.
