Start your reading engines...

Betty has kindly reminded me that I'm up next in the selection rotation, so here it is:

The Secret History by Donna Tartt

Donna Tartt is a Catholic author who turns out a novel once every ten years, for a grand total of two books. The Secret History was her debut novel. I read it eight years ago, and certain passages and images still float up to the top of my consciousness from time to time.

Sounds good.

I have the book, but I haven't started it yet. Do we have a tentative "finish reading by" date, at all?

Otepoti,

I haven't started re-reading it yet myself... I'll try to post something about it by late next week.

So far it's a winner. Thanks for choosing this one.

...and the description of the in-group reminds me a lot of the incisive writing of L.P. Hartley. Scary, how it takes me back to university.

I'm still waiting for my interlibrary loan, but if it doesn't come soon, I'll just go buy it.

I have finished reading, so can start discussing when others are ready.
